The Gainesville Regional Utilities has plans of raising their rates again. As it is many can not keep up with the current bill, and most of the local community agencies are low in funds or will not help everyone every month. We are a small community with limited income. With another increase may mean we may not have any funds for foods or any other much needed resources for our families. We are objecting the GRU increase rate and petition the Gainesville City Commissioners to reject their request, so that we as Gainesville citizen can surive with the little that we already have. By raising the rates you are robbing food out of babes mouths. Please consider families with limited income, families who may rely on government income, and families who may also be unemployed or no income. Families with disable individuals who need medical equipment for survival, etc...etc... Please take into consideration that many, or most can not afford the current rate muchless a new increase. We, as the citizens of Gainesville and/or of Alachua County reject the Gainesville Regional Untility increase; and plead to Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) and the Alachua County Commissioners, and Gainesville City Commissioners to reject the increase to save our families medical and daily needs. This petition will be mailed (postal and e format) to Gainesville Ciy Commissioners & GRU by September 1, 2009.
