Ōban Star Racers follows the story of Eva, a 15 year old girl, who after the tragic death of her mother, was abandoned by her father Don Wei at the Stern Boarding School. After 10 years, Eva reunites with her father under the alias Molly as a mechanic in his racing company. Under orders of the President, Don Wei must gather a team to race at Alwas the location of the pre-selections before the race in Ōban. Not wanting to lose her father again, Molly stows away in the Earth team ship. After Earth Racer Rick Thunderbolt is injured in the first race, it is up to Molly to lead the Earth team to victory.
