Dear Nebraska Senator/Representative, Like thousands of other Nebraskans, I strongly support President Obama and his efforts to achieve sweeping health care reform. I have every confidence that you, too, will lend your voice and support to this most noble cause. Not to do so, I feel, would bring dishonor to the great state of Nebraska and its people. Every day, the devastating effects of the current broken system become more evident in my own community, among my co-workers, friends, and family. Too many of us are suffering as a result of not being able to afford quality health care, or are being denied due to a preexisting condition. Many of our country's economic woes stem directly from our inability to pass health care reform legislation. Businesses, both large and small, are being crippled by skyrocketing health insurance premiums. Many find they can no longer compete with their foreign counterparts without cutting health insurance benefits to their employees, or worse, relocating outside the country. For these reasons, our country cannot afford to wait another year while Washington stalls, delays, or once again says no to crucial health care reform - and we won't! It is time for change. Nebraskans need to know you are committed to supporting our President's efforts to finally bring affordable health care to all Americans. We, the undersigned, hereby inform our congressional representatives… 1) That we strongly support the President’s conviction that real reform must: a) Reduce Rising Health Care Cost b) Guarantee Coverage Choice,(including a public option) c) Ensure Quality Affordable Health Care to All Americans 2) That affordable health care is our right. 3) That we will continue the battle until a comprehensive health care bill which contains these three priorities is passed into law.
