I agree with all the previous comments. This was never a particularly sensible area for new development and these new proposals only serve to indicate a few of the problems it will cause.

It is difficult enough at times to get up Hill Road with parked cars and making it narrower will make it more dangerous.

Rectory and Hill Road are congested enough NOW. With additional traffic from the new developments they will become gridlocked.

1. Should there be an incident/emergency in Hill Road or on the.current Upper Farm/Barn Lane estate there is no exit out to escape.
2. It is difficult now to get through Hill Road/ Rectory Road with cars parked along them. Who will be responsible for stopping large delivery lorries who come to The Vale shops and already use both Rectory Road & Hill Road numerous times a day?

This proposal would create significant traffic problems at peak times.

This is a busy village and one of the most used roads, with more traffic all the time. With extra housing the last thing we need is to narrow the roads as well. I believe this will make the roads involved less safe.

Narrowing these roads would make the traffic situation worse, not better, with no safety improvements.

I fully support this petition. The proposed road layouts will not improve pedestrian or traffic safety at all. They will lead to large traffic hold ups and increased safety concerns and most certainly lead to Kennet Way becoming a rat run.
