In keeping with all the usual nonsensical behaviour from overpaid bureaucrats - a ridiculous scheme. Devoid of any common-sense.The roads are bad enough now, in not being able to cope. Suffice to say it all fits in pretty well with what goes on in the area generally - dare I mention Pack Lane, with its so-called traffic management system, which is a danger to most, let alone the cars themselves; at least it keeps the local garages in business.! Can't wait for the bad weather to arrive and see what impact that will have, yet again - unless you happen to live in close proximity of a Councillor where the roads are usually treated, of course..?!

Oakley just doesn't have the info-structure to cope with this sort of development and the construction of pinch point road systems and pedestrian crossings are just not necessary for the current volumes of traffic.

A ridiculous plan which would only serve to increase the danger, frustration, noise, pollution and inconvenience to all users of these roads.

As a regular user of this intersection, both early morning and late evening, I see it is already a hazardous exit from Barn Lane due to parked cars. This reduces visibility to a dangerous level already and adding less driving space to leave Barn Lane and look for on coming traffic, and exposing the car to traffic coming from the top of hill road, puts the driver's side of the car in peril. Narrowing this intersection really is an unsafe option and this will only be exacerbated by an increase in traffic.

This would cause severe traffic problems. There is no need from a traffic management or road safety point of view to do such work. It would cause considerable problems and the proposed development has already been rejected and is not welcomed either. Have the local people or police been consulted ? After all they are the experts about road safety!

We must have homes in the village, however this road scheme is quite ridiculous.

This scheme puts so many people's safety at risk, drivers and pedestrians alike! There is already too much traffic using Hill Road daily and adding more on a permanent basis is potentially dangerous in itself.

This is a terrible idea

Is it realised the amount of traffic both pedestrian and vehicle, that use this part of the village. This will only put people's safety at risk, please consider not letting it go ahead. Thank you alan poynter.

This appears to have been designed by people who have know idea of how the village works and is very heavy handed

This is not a good solution and will make what is already a busy road during peak times more dangerous!

Narrowing the roads would be madness. These roads are already dangerous with vehicles parked in positions that mean that it is often necessary to reverse to allow oncoming traffic. Large vehicles like the bus cause particular problems.

This proposal reflects little understanding of the risks, and consequences, of such an invasive change to the already dangerous traffic situation! Additional vehicle congestion, particularly by large commercial vehicles, caused by the pinch points will create major disruption to residents, threats to pedestrian and horse safety, and increased pollution from vehicles slowing, accelerating and idling. This is all totally contrary to any notion of a fit for purpose design solution for this environment.

This is a ridiculous proposal which makes no sense at all and will only serve to make the residents of Oakley even more angry about the proposed development at Beech Tree Close.

Who will this help exactly? It's a ridiculous proposal that will cause much chaos.

The proposal for Hill Rd, Rectory Rd and Barn Lane are lacking in common sense and do not take into consideration the practical issues that will impact upon residents in those areas and others within the village.

We completely oppose all of these proposed road scheme measures associated with the proposed Beech Tree Close land development.
