As Knoxville allows chickens, Oak Ridge should, too. They would encourage students involved with 4H, as well as allow families/individuals to raise their own chickens for pleasure, education, and eggs.

They serve many purposes! Not just the fresh eggs but offer a little of farm living to the city children. All things don't grow on grocery store shelves!

I personally do not intend to have back yard hens but have no objections to my neighbors having same.
