Oak Park supports a rezone to the new SW Elementary

We moved from another city and chose Oak Parke neighborhood due to the great rating of Baranoff elementary. Please keep our children at a school with a great rating.

My family resides in Oak Parke. Please either keep our children at Baranoff or at the new SW Elementary School. There are many reasons why this request is reasonable, but I want to emphasize the importance of our children remaining in schools that track to Bowie.

Austin ISD's Belief Statement reads, "We believe in equity, mutual support and collective responsibility. We also provide choice in educational decisions, which empowers advocacy in students and families to control their school experience." How can the Boundary Advisory Committee justify its proposal to move our children to Kocurek while being aware of Oak Parke's multiple requests to remain at Baranoff or be rezoned to the new SW Austin School? I hope the final decision makers will uphold the basic tenet of their Belief Statement to give our families "choice in educational decisions, which empowers advocacy in students and families to control their school experience".
