In regards to the new policy of grills on decks, the residents disagree on the HOA interpretation of Burnsville fire code. The code state that building of 3-4 units or more who share either an entry/walkway OR a common egress, are forbidden to use grills w/in 15 feet of the shared structure. In pairs, we share only a common deck wall. As homeowners, we were not allowed a voice or vote on the matter. According to current city code, we feel we are in compliance, especially in light of this being proposed as a new city policy when we have not had prior restrictions on the afore mentioned equipment.
