I just found out they actually listened and are moving forward with the grandfather clause for everyone who turned eighteen before that November cutoff. It feels surreal honestly because I keep double checking my email to make sure I am not dreaming this but it is real and I am …

As you all know New York State's law has gone into effect to raise the tobacco age to 21 years old however some people feel as if there should be some slight changes to the law. Perhaps with enough signatures we could convince New York state to implement a grandfather law for individuals who are 18 years of age before November 13th 2019, when the law went into effect.

I just looked at the screen and saw the counter hit one hundred signatures which is honestly way faster than I ever thought this would move. I was sitting here thinking about how unfair that date cutoff feels for so many of us and it is wild to see that so many other people feel exactly the same way about the grandfather clause.

We are getting so near to that one thousand mark which feels pretty surreal honestly. If everybody sends this link to just a couple of people right now we could actually hit that goal before the day is out and finally have some real momentum to show the state office.

I feel if we can sign our life over to the military at 18 or get drafted then the law should of stayed at 18. But also grandfathering people who were smoking for 2+ years at 18 and are now 20 would please them and cause less arguments over the whole thing.

I believe that if I was able to buy cigarettes for almost 3 years they shouldn’t just stop selling them too me because they changed the age. I also think it’s stupid that you can be 18 to vote and fight in the war but you can’t buy a pack of cigarettes.

I have been using ecigarettes for 2 years since the day I turned 18, it’s against ones rights to be able to buy a product and then have that right taken away, I go to the doctor annually ive even had my lungs checked and ive had no side effects..

I believe that everyone over the age of 18, before November 13th should in fact be grandfathered past this law, you let them choice to smoke, or vape, or chew tobacco, and they’ve became addicted to it, they will still find a way to get it, just let them.

there are so many loops in this stupid useless law. You don’t think underaged kids are still gonna get their hands on these products? At least let the people who are 19-20 still be able to buy the product they have been for already 2-3 years now.

ive been smoking awhile and have been buying them myself since 2018 i think the law makes sense but also find it unfair to the ones who where 18+ before it was passed and think grandfather law would be amazing so i can still buy them for myself

Where is the grandfather clock law? I was 19 when this happened I’ve been buying tabacco products for a long time and out of the blue I can no longer do so. Making me feel like I’ve lost a lot of my privileges, it is so hard to keep calm when I’m in a super stressful spot in my life. I should be able to spend my money on whatever I please as long as it isn’t illegal. And this was not illegal for me to do so when I was 18 until after a few months of me being 19 the law changed grandfather clock needs to come back makes me feel to have no id until I can buy the tabacco product again and I am 20 years old now almost 21. Come on now like I shouldn’t have to wait till I’m 21 it used to be 16 years of age in order to buy these products then switched to 18 I was very young I couldn’t wait to be 16 until that law changed I couldn’t wait to be 18 I don’t even want to wait anymore to be 21 I hit the age and then this changes on me. I vote grandfather clock!!!!

I was almost 20 when they passed the law and now I’m upset I can’t buy wraps anymore. I don’t even smoke cigarettes.
