We understand and respect the need to provide family safe access to the city beaches, notably Rockaway but we believe that Rockaway residents who have enjoyed the beaches all year round with their pets should not be shut out from the beaches from Memorial weekend to Labor day. We respectfully request that dogs be allowed on the beaches until 8:00 am and after 6:30 pm during the summer months. These are after hours, no lifeguards or swimming should be taking place, and eveyone can enjoy.
