As a registered nurse and business owner, I have always prioritised patient safety and compliance with medication handling and clinical governance standards. The current collaborative model works exceptionally well and provides a safe, controlled environment for aesthetic treatments. Additionally, the requirement for individual patient-labelled S4 medications for every treatment would create prohibitive costs and extreme medication wastage. It would render many clinics financially unviable and force responsible businesses like mine to close their doors. The result would not only be the loss of our clinic, but also our family home and livelihood. The impact on our team, clients, and community would be devastating. This requirement does not reflect best practice standards for responsible medication management or clinical governance.

Hell yes to bringing back nurse led clinics!!

The interpretation of the legislation that Queensland Health has decided to adopt does nothing to enhance patient safety. All it does is discriminate against primarily female owned and led businesses, and cater to the greed of doctors. Queensland Health's interpretation disempowers women and is ultimately sexist. There is no evidence to suggest that there are higher instances of negligence/non-compliance in the administration of cosmetic S4 medications by registered nurses compared to doctors and dentists. It's rather the opposite - women have an 'eye' for these types of treatments. For many doctors/dentists, cosmetics is a side project, whereas for cosmetic registered nurses, cosmetics is their primary focus and livelihood, and they have honed their skills. Queensland Health's interpretation of the law does nothing to protect against delinquent doctors and dentists, and in my view is purely agenda driven.

Stop impeding the growth of women in business and our ability to support ourselves and our families. Nurse Led Clinics are a vital part of our community, offering safe, clinical procedures, delivered by accountable, professional and qualified Registered Nurses in their specialty. Support and empower female dominated industries and encourage entrepreneurship, rather than disempower. Find positive, empowering and effective ways to regulate the industry to ensure safe, compliant practice.

Please stop with rediculous regulations, RNs have a university degree, they are not back yard hacks. Why don't you look into the cosmetic surgeons who never studied their craft ... Plastic surgeons only!

If their goal is to protect the public, they should focus on going after the illegal injectors instead of targeting all the nurses who try to do the right thing.

This legislation is getting beyond a joke

Your stopping predominantly female owned businesses to have secure financial stability. This is so unjust considering the lack of reasoning an evidence behind the misuse or malpractice of drugs. This will be devastating to so many women I know and there children. Complete destruction of there careers they have worked so hard to gain!!

Unacceptable nurses are skill practitioners.

Aesthetic nurses are being singled out due to Doctors greed. This is not about safety.

We trust nurses to handle and administer medicines in medical settings all the time - why should cosmetic medicines be any different?

Doctors trying to monopolise and squeeze out nurses.

I think the governments are all looking for new ways to get more money out of people. It needs to stop. It will be someone who is trying to make themselves look good in their role but have no idea how something like this impacts everyone else.

Amazing Clinic it would be a disservice for them to have to put prices up.

I have been using the same reputable injector service for over 6 years now. I have complete confidence in the quality and service they supply. They always abide by the regulatory requirements I would be devastated if this service was no longer affordable for me

RN’s should be the only people performing these treatments just like regular RN’s when taking blood.
