It's foolish to underestimate the huge value of having a member on staff doing the job that she does. Benefits the patients and ultimately adds to the success of the treatments experienced by the patient and families.

Very important to keep the Clinic nurse as she is a major part of patient support, an absolute necessity

KEEP HER. This nurse is essential for anyone living with ILD in Edmonton.

My husband would be lost without her help. She is the only person who knows what is happening with his care when we call.

To whom it may concern, I believe that access to high quality, universal healthcare is a core Canadian value, and maintaining this should be a top priority for the Albertan government. Positions like the ILD clinic nurse coordinator allow for quality, compassionate, patient centered care which can drastically improve treatment and quality of life for patients facing chronic or terminal disease. I personally do not know anybody who has suffered from ILD, but I do know that most of us at some point will face a life changing diagnosis, and at that time we will want and need the types of services that a dedicated health care provider like the ILD clinic nurse coordinator can provide. It is because of this that I support allocating public funds to maintain positions like the ILD clinic nurse coordinator, and other specialized positions which facilitate patient education, quality patient centered care, and ultimately hope for individuals facing serious diseases. Without ILD care coordination by a dedicated clinic nurse. The care of ILD patients will be lost and all the gains in quality of life,dying and death will be lost.

Please note that this request is for Northern Albertans living with ILD. The ILD Clinic in Calgary already has an AHS-funding Clinic Nurse Coordinator to support Southern Albertans living with ILD.
