I am NOT n favour of GST, haven't we listened to the various speakers of how this GST will impact us we already on our knees. We are going through economy times, food so expensive, cant save a dollar like before children hungry hurricane season is here covid already here don't no when it will be end and the list goes on and on . We have capable competent creative and ordinary Anguillians who can sit and discussed the issues viewing the present, middle, and longterm. Let's.stand Anguillians!

The same people that campaigned about GST being a bad tax were the same ones who passed it. You'll are a bunch of inexperienced want-to-be politicians that knew nothing as to how government worked. Eventually, we'll have to deal with it but as of now, the money isn't there to be able to pay for this tax.

I honestly believe that the GOV failed to convince the majority of the people that this tax is right at this time especially given that they ans I campaigned so hard that it would not be apply ones elected. In this democratic country I just can’t agree to this at this time. The government needs to work hard to convince me to support this tax the same way they convinced me to support them in which I proudly did. May God Anguilla

I do believe that we need major tax reform, but GST at this time, in these economic conditions, with the future unknown because of continuing covid, is NOT the answer!

The government obviously new the position taken by its two Honourable members and came with a backup plan to deceive the public. This is evident by the stance taken in the House of Assembly in a blatant effort to thwart the democratic will of the people. My response to Mr. Quincy Gumbs' view that this can be likened to the 1967 Revolution in terms of the stance taken by the government, he should be ashamed. The only comparison is that government forced this bill at this time upon it's citizenry. This is exactly what Britain tried to do with Anguilla during the Federation.
There is everything alarming about a process that circumvented principle and tradition in terms of the voting process in the House. Jose's request for voting by "Division" coupled with the Honourable members Kyle and Kentish should have made the Speaker's decision immediate. It was most likely a move to borrow time and have sidebar conversations to influence the passage of the bill. The remarkable thing is that the government side did not argue against or object to the Member's request; but the Speaker presented a baseless argument. Our rules are clear as argued by Hon. Jose Vanterpool.

The government need to seriously think about the country and the people that put them in office and remember anything the them sign will determine the future of our country .... think about the young people you promised to look out for please..
