Edison would probably just declare bankruptcy and go on their merry way, if we had a Fukushima disaster here. They only care about PROFITS, and not safety.

Nuclear waste storage has no rational justification so close to heavily populated and sensitive natural and economic zones. US enemies would love us to, and are likely rejoicing at Edison’s desire to store our nuclear waste in a vulnerable area in terms of a natural disaster occurring such as an earthquake or as an obvious first strike location to wreak unimaginable mayham on the US for a rogue or communist regime, or even a terrorist cell that manages to infiltrate the location with easy access from the 5 Freeway only 100 yards away, or from the ocean only feet away. It makes all the sense in the world to move it to a safe and remote location away from our citizens and sensitive areas. To continue to portray that it’s current location is the best place to store it is nothing short of insane and represents the behavior expected of an enemy of the US looking to do harm to our livelihood and existence.

Entropy demands that concentrated substances will always dilute themselves into the surroundings. It is not possible to trap nuclear concentrated waste forever. "Storing" this material within a few miles of neighborhoods is neither scientific nor moral.

A more robust cask must be built that can be monitored constantly, A hot cell on site along with design in the cask for robotic empying and repacking of fuel rods if ther are leaks in the original cask.

There are no iron clad safeguards to protect the population if the canisters remain buried in the sand close to the water. If a disaster ccurs, there is no compensation is hat will account for the lives and environment that will he affected. Sooner or later disaster will occur. Considering how storage had been done, radiation escape cannot be continued forever. To leave the canisters where and how they are presently stored condemns the land and future populations to destination.

What Edison is doing is outrageous and unconscionable ! They’ve put us on the precipice of a catastrophic nuclear event of herculean proportions. These people should be jailed for what they are doing! Evil! I can’t believe how people are ignoring this.
