We the undersigned request that the National Trust allow filming of the forthcoming feature film Lawrence: After Arabia at their Clouds Hill site the former home of T.E, Lawrence. Cloud’s Hill is owned by the nation and not the fiefdom or domain for an elite few who do not agree with challenging "established history". Previously the NT has given permission for filming at a number of their properties with much more doubtful subject matters for example NT properties were used for “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016)”, Conan Doyle’s “The Hound of the Baskervilles (2000)” and of course the “Harry Potter” series films. We request the decision by NT is reversed to allow this biopic of a Top 50 Briton and hero of the 20th Century to be filmed authentically. The NTs motto is “Forever. For Everyone". Its seems this is only true as long as they do not question the belief of a property custodian and volunteers and believe in zombies, giant spectral hounds, wizards and witches!

Filming should be allowed and it may give much needed publicity and visitors to an important and unique house. It was said at a recent conference on T.E Lawrence that the house was in a worryingly poor state of repair.

I assume this is to be a serious and factual biographical account of TE after Arabia. As such I feel the NT should have no objection to CH being used. It was an integral part of his life post-war.

For me this action by the NT smacks of censorship, and the fact is that censorship always defeats its own purpose, for it creates, in the end, the kind of society that is incapable of exercising real discretion. Please reconsider this decision and allow permission for the filming to go forward.

Since I'm a student filmmaker myself as well as a Lawrence fan, I support the use of national properties for the arts, and want to see more films made about his life

As a NT member I'm very disappointed that filming of some outside shots for Lawrence after Arabia have been refused at Clouds Hill. What possible reason can you give NT?!....a few professional film makers and actors will actually increase interest and attract more visitors !

I think it's very wrong the the NT should stop the British public from seeing this film. Lawrence was a complex and fascinating character as well as extremely famous, I believe we have a right to know the facts and form our own opinions. The conspiracy theory is not new and has been in existence since the death of Lawrence, so this is not a revolutionary or controversial topic.

The authenticity of this film is so important and I hope there will be a change of mind from those currently opposing filming within the grounds. Many many people in Dorset have adopted the extraordinary life and times of Lawrence to their hearts, not to mention the great man himself...the good and the bad of course. His legacy deserves to live on and not be forgotten. Please reconsider permitting access.
