I think the first two weeks shouldn’t count in the rankings if this decision is reversed.

I agree with all the points made and mostly find it not appropriate the league made this decision without any input from its members it serves.

Please consider reverting back to the normal point system for series movement. Winning teams should be rewarded instead of stuck at the same level for another season.

Please reconsider movement. Not only are men's teams continuing movement, they are also serving food & drinks in their huts. Games are outdoors, plenty of time for make-ups. There is zero rationale that makes any sense to this decision.

If the mens teams do not suspend movement, but the women do, this is discrimination. If other women’s league can figure this out, I don’t see why our league isn’t able to.

The fall 2021 season was much more fun because it included some friendly competition. Not sure why our league would be the only one to be frozen.

Voting FOR movement !
The league has accommodated makeups with up to 3 weeks to complete. They have done their part to make play equitable if one team runs up against Covid

This is the new normal, we have to learn to live with this and play. Unfreeze the ladder and keep the program moving up.

I support this petition and agree this decision should be reversed. There should absolutely be the same rules for the Men's League and Women's League.

Hi Amanda, thanks for your support. To clarify the issue, points weren’t counted last year (2020/2021) when we were in the thick of the pandemic, and all teams were frozen in the same place as they finished the 2019/2020 season. Thankfully though, we are in a very different position this season due to vaccines and reduced quarantine requirements, hence our disappointment with the decision to freeze the rest of this year after the competition had gone back to normal in the Fall.

Pls reverse the decision and make this season count! It’s an outdoor, non contact sport and we have all worked hard to get here. Thanks!

Good afternoon NSWPTL Board, I know you are being bombarded with several arguments for and against this session to count. I am in the camp of having the points count.
If both sessions counted last year when schools and restaurants (for the most part) were shuttered due to COVID, why would points not count this year? We play paddle tennis outside, there are no meals served, most people are vaccinated (I'd guess), and quarantines are now five days (reduced from 10). If a player is infected with COVID, she has a sub who could fill in.
Thank you for rethinking your decision. I appreciate your hard work.

Suspending movement now does not make sense given movement was just allowed after fall/winter session. Thanks for your consideration.

There is no logical reason to not count this season.
