About time!! I have said for the past twenty + years that all acts passed after August 31 should only affect next years taxes.

We need better customer service from the IRS. Congress should provide more resources to the IRS so that phones get answered and issues get resolved in a more timely manner.

We are not unpaid auditors. We do not need to be burdened every year more and more while the IRS and Congress try to get their act together. Long overdue!

The current system is broken and needs fixed. The powers that be don't live in the real world and so have no clue how what and when they do things impacts the rest of us.
