Disappointed to hear this is happening to the sport of rodeo! The majority of ranchers and rodeo athletes loves the animals and take great care of them! Those animals have to be healthy and in great shape to compete in the rodeos. Rodeo: the only sport that stems from practical, real-life situations and skills where the animal can be just as famous as the cowboy!

These would severely impact our agricultural way of life. We urge you to think rationally and protect our western heritage.

Please do not try to destroy a way of life you do not understand. Come spend a week and see how those that produce the food for AMERICA and what they value. I promise you that their values are truer and stronger than the small vocal minority that wish to tear it down.

As an equestrian, I use spurs as a tool. I recognize any tool can be misused and become brutal, but the rodeo animals have a great life. Alameda County would do better to focus on the issue of animal neglect and abuse by owners.

Rodeo has been part of our culture for hundreds of years and ranching is hard enough without putting any more limitations on it . As it is most ranchers are moving out of this state. When voting on this think about where your beef comes from!!!

Hopefully the delay in the vote indicates your willingness to educate yourselves to the points mentioned by those opposing this amendment to the ordinance regarding rodeo. Please vote NO and continue the historic legacy of rodeo in Alameda County.

I think this is absurd and frankly over stepping boundaries and ways of life for most. Please stick to stuff you know and leave the “free” country free.

This is unbelievable! Ridiculous! You have no idea what you guys are talking about! No idea about Ranching or rodeo's! Those animals are very well taken care of and are treated better than most people! You need to use certain equipment for Ranching and rodeo's! The animals are not being abused! Stop this!!!!

Rodeo is America’s heritage and presents a good representation of how it respects and honors our fellow livestock competitors! Rodeo teaches urban kids how to value all lives, especially animals… millions of rodeo fans love watching the events and carrying on traditions handed down thru the generations… those few individuals who don’t like rodeo need to go to pounds and alleyways if they want to help animals, rodeo animals don’t need their misguided opinions!

I ask that you highly take into consideration the impact this will have on our community! Not only will this impact people financially your taking away our history and our culture! Please do your research so you can see just how wrong this is! These animals are extremely well taken care of! And the fact that anyone believes otherwise just shows how ignorant they are to the sport of rodeo, ranching and riding a horse!
