Just when our Hull FC acedemy is thriving we give our neighbours chance to join us and potentially take away our future stars. Am sure KR will feel similar on those future red n white players. Who will be unbiased when a great player is spotted?

Appalled by this decision. This is nothing but a cost-cutting exercise and shows a complete lack of understanding about the rivalry between the two clubs. Think again Pearson and Hudgell.

Embarrassment, disgusting to all amateur young players who want to play for their childhood club. Is rugby in hull really this talentless?

There is more than enough potential within the boundaries of Hull to provide for two separate academies and therefore should remain just so. The academy merge is just a prelude to the first teams merging. 250 years of history should not be brushed aside just because it means saving money. Just because the RFL doesn't like the fact that there are two teams from one city should not mean they have to merge. The passion and the intensity along with the revenue generated by having the two teams in the super league is beneficial not only to the city of Hull but also the rest of the super league due to the large contingent of travelling fans that the clubs take with them. A combined team would not generate that kind of support. Black n white is black n white, red n white is red n white, and neither should merge.

I can't belive this is happening. Just because both clubs are from hull, would either club consider merging with any other super league club the answer would be NO
