If you received a notice of violation due to an extension of your laneway/walkway, or would like to add your voice to the parking issues. Please add your name. This petition will be presented to our councillor. The goal would be to have a variance/change to by-law 107 (3) & 109 (3)
I have been hearing from so many of you who are tired of these unfair violations on your own property. I am currently preparing the full list of names to present to our councillor so they understand the scale of this frustration before we push for the necessary by-law changes.

Seeing this grow makes me realize how many of our neighbors feel the same frustration about these by-law restrictions. It is encouraging to see that my own fight to keep my walkway is something we are tackling as a community.

Most people have 2 cars and there is virtually no parking availabke anywhere. I live by myself and have a storage shed in the back. Because my car is in my garage, I can have a single visitor. However, most of my neighbours have 2 cars and cannot park in their garages, which are only big enough to accept small vehicles, so they widen their parking space. What else can they do?

My husband and I both have to drive trucks for work (one is even a company vehicle). Our trucks do not fit in our garage and the only way to fit them in the driveway was to extend our driveway with interlock stone. Our trucks are wide vehicles and we went only as wide as we needed to fit them. I don't think this is an unreasonable accomodation for vehicles. It's not an eye sore and we still have lots of beautifully maintained grass and landscaping in our front yard. This by-law is ridiculous.

Parking in the neighbourhood is terrible even with driveway extensions. Roads are occasionally hard to drive when cars parked on streets.

This development NEVER should have been approved with the design that it has. The majority of single car laneways do not even allow for 1 guest to park in the driveway as well and the majority of double car garages do not allow for two cars deep. As the homes are all packed in so extremely tightly with only an arms length between them, this also means frontage barely allows for street parking and has caused some issues between neighbours. Any of the extensions I’ve seen while out walking my dogs have been very tastefully done.

I get a parking ticket for parking in front of my house on the road (more than 3 hours), I get a violation for parking on the interlock in front of my house - there's no winning this. This community needs a variance and we need it bad. What about all the cars that will parked on the road in the winter because of this? where are the plows going to go? so many questions.

A huge number of households in our community use small driveway extension to help keep cars off road and just to make life much easier. Never been an issue in the 6 years I've lived here.

Many cars park illegally in our neighborhood and it makes it impossible for big cars to drive.

The streets impacted have no street parking, and requesting everyone pulls up their interlock driveways is ridiculous.
