I watched Coach Smith belittle my sister to a point where my sister believed the names she was being called. Instead of being called a coach I think bully may be more appropriate.

Every player deserve a chance to Win not just be part of a broken system. I am not against losing when it teaches one humbleness but to lose every game and see no change in the program is what makes it so disappointing for these girls. Attitude does reflect leadership and that is one of the major reasons why so many Volleyball athletes can’t preform to their full potential. It starts from the Coaching level. Really hope to see change for our future Volleyball team. It has been so long these girls have not won and have probably forgotten how that feels.

Speaking from first hand experience when you hear the head coach from the stands yell at the rest of the team about your daughter “not to set her because she can’t hit!” is pretty discouraging. It’s one thing to give corrective criticism but to belittle someone in front of fans, family, and team members is wrong. If this type of coaching is applauded at OHS then count me out. Great athletes don’t always make for great coaches!

The program deserves a change as much as the football program did, the girls deserve better.

It’s time for change if our children loose interest in a game they love. We need to keep our kids playing and winning. It keeps them out of trouble.

She told my sister, she needed better “work ethics”. Maybe she needs to take her own advice.

It’s time for our girls to be treated fairly and for all girls trying out for OHS-VB team to get a fair chance to be part of a winning team. I remember the coach saying that our girls had a poor attitude, well attitude reflects leadership, COACH!!!

The bigger question is why do we even have an athletic director or an athletic department if they haven't seen this already? From what I hear as long as you kiss ass you can coach for a long time. Do records and attitude not count?

I believe and I have told both the athletic director and the volleyball coach herself that a change in volleyball coaching and the way they treated the girls needed to be assessed and improved. We complained and nothing happened
