To the ministry of higher education, Odisha

Sir,

It is decided not to conduct the intermidiate semesters in UG and PG courses all over Odisha and claims are also arising to cancel the final semesters as well for the pandemic COVID-19. Before claiming something we would like to rearrange some well known facts . Since the first lockdown , all educational institutes are closed and all our works like practicals , dissertations , classes are paused . For precautionary measures Govt has taken all the better steps in all fields and we respect that . But one thing is blur, if exams had to be cancelled eventually for what we were waiting since more than 70 days ? And if getting a degree is the only motive of education now , why are we admitted into regular courses ? We understand the serious situation and managed self studies, managed online classes and internal exams with a lot of network issues ,but can't manage to be judged on any basis . It's our career and we hope education still has its importance in the state after health obviously and we expect its place before malls, restaurants and obviously before liquor shops .

And concerning the mass gathering in the campus , it's obviously a controlled one than other places . We are bound in University rules and University can better take precautionary measures .

COVID-19 became severe and June being the peak month it is increasing due to the allowed interstate transportations . It will happen anyway , exams have nothing to do with that . As per biology , the students in their ages have the maximal immunity and less fear of contamination , although not nill . With 3% lethality , the patients those die are with lower immunity and other underlying diseases. We don't think , we should be that sophisticated to back out with some possibilities left . If any student gets contaminated or shows symptoms , he/she can have immediate help and being away from family , it's a benefit, not to contaminate others .

Important thing is , we can not accept being judged by our previous performances.

Lastly, we would request you to consider this and to make a precaution while other methods are available , kindly don't tag us with this no exam slogan.
