This absolutely must stop. May G-d unite Jews, Christians, Muslims and all peoples of faith or no faith to confront bigotry, hatred and violence.

Over the years, many of our students have visited the Islamic Center of Tucson (ICT) in order to learn more about the religion of Islam. The people of the ICT have graciously welcomed our students and faculty, sharing their time and space with generosity and kindness. The University of Arizona Religious Studies Program’s Statement in Response to Vandalism of the ICT can be seen at http://religion.arizona.edu/news/university-arizona-religious-studies-program%E2%80%99s-response-vandalism-islamic-center-tucson-ict

The actions of a few students have tarnished the reputation of the University of Arizona, the private dormitories Next, Level, and The Hub, and Tucson itself. As an alumna, I say, "Wildcats, it's time to show the world, you are better than this!"

The behavior of these students is abhorring, and seeing them promptly evicted would be delightful. I came to this university hoping to find an accepting atmosphere for all lines of thought- not to meet irrational hate. Thank you for making an effort to support the assaulted students, and for keeping trash off of our campus.

Over the last 20 years I have had many friends and students at the Islamic Center; a former imam at the Center was a guest of honor at my son's bar mitzvah. The Islamic Center s part of our community, and we must help protect it against this disgusting behavior. If any of the perpetrators are identified as students at the University of Arizona, then the dean of Students should take disciplinary action against them
