Lordship Lane really doesn't need another betting shop. The preferential treatment given to betting shops in the planning process with regard to former licensed premises is a real blight on many areas.

The local community would benefit from a diverse and vibrant mix of establishments NOTA third betting shop in an 80 yards. This area has improved so much recently but another betting shop will increase anti-social behaviour, litter, noise and traffic problems. Men congregate outside the betting shops already there smoking, drinking and causing a nuisance. This will become an intimidating area for families who live here. Children from three schools pass by here. Vulnerable people attending sessions at the nearby Winkfield Road Centre pass by here.

The Lordship is a great looking building and has more potential remaining as a pub or restaurant of some sort, rather than yet another betting shop. The local community will not benefit from yet another betting shop, as having 2 within a stone throw away is surely sufficient. It can already be quite intimidating walking past groups permanently stationed outside the existing betting shops. There has been major shifts in gambling in recent years, with greater growth in online/mobile gambling, therefore if you want back an enterprise with longevity I would not approve something that will more than likely close in a couple of years and in the main is targeting the under-privileged, creating further social issues.

There are so many reasons why changing the usage of this pub to another betting shop is a mistake. There's already a range of antisocial behaviour created by the other two betting shops nearby. Surely this is the chance to have something in the building that will add to the area. I really hope the Licensing Team at Haringey Council and Paddy Power themselves see sense and realise this is absolutely not what the local community needs.

We already have far too many betting shops in Wood Green. In my work at the Salvation Army I have seen lives torn apart by gambling addiction. The numerous betting shops already prey on the most vulnerable and encourage betting in young people. Don't let this happen.

I am a resident in the area, and I am totally against having yet another gambling outlet on my high road. As we know it, we already have 3 gambling outlets on a relatively small stretch of road - No more please! Do something useful for the community.

There are already too many betting shops around. These just destroy the community, and I'd rather this site be re-devolped into flats instead.
