For the SECOND time, the site for our new school building has been taken from us!!!
The Department has decided to give it to another school…yet WE brought the site to the table. We arranged for it to be transferred to the Department.
The Old Scoil Phádraig was given to the Dept of Education by the Sisters of Mercy specifically for our little Church of Ireland school.
Our current building is over 200 years old - our children desperately need a new building, before it’s too late. We just want fairness.

The Department is avoiding our calls so I am drafting a formal complaint to the Minister this afternoon. Text this link to three friends and post it on your Facebook page to keep the pressure on our local representatives. We need them to see that this community will not be ignored again.

Give Holy Trinity Primary School back the site that is rightfully theirs. Disgraceful that the Department would give it away a 2nd time. The Church of Ireland community are entitled to a school that upholds a Church of Ireland ethos for the people of Wesport and the surrounding area. The Sisters of Mercy made it abundantly clear that the site was for the Church of Ireland school.
Scared heart school has enough space below to add on. Leave this building to the Holy trinity that's in dire need of a premises.
Shocking that children are expected to go to school in this building and teachers have to work in such conditions
Holy Trinity School was declared 'not fit for purpose' by the Department's own inspector ten or more years ago. Since then it's been promises, promises - promises made and promises broken. Have the Minister and her officers left the ordinary paths of fair process and equal treatment?
Please finally give this brilliant school, with a great ethos and caring inclusivity, the home it has been patiently waiting for and deserves and honour previous agreements to allow it a new home to grow and prosper in its provision of a happy school with an adequate playground and sustainable building.

This is outrageous! Why should Holy Trinity be disadvantaged to facilitate another school when the purpose of the transfer is clear? Surely other solutions can be facilitated for the other school and Holy Trinity can get it's turn?
