We, the undersigned, wish to register our objection to the "Notice Of Decision" with respect to An Official Plan amendment Subsection 17(34) of the Planning Act, Amendment No. 71, Dated December 15, 2008 to permit the development of a 21 storey, 186 unit condo building, known as Strata Condos, to be located at 551 and 569 Maple Avenue, Burlington, Ontario, with a density of 321 units per hectare, for the following reasons:
Regardless of the "Places to Grow" plan, as well as the Provincial Policy Statement, we believe that the size, height and density of the building is excessive.
AND
Pedestrian and vehicle safety relative to this development, as planned, is at risk.
PLEASE NOTE: AFTER YOU SIGN YOUR NAME, WE ENCOURAGE COMMENTS, AND A DONATION IS DISCOURAGED
I have been spending my evenings reviewing the original planning documents and the sheer scale of what they want to drop in our neighborhood is even more alarming than I first realized. Many of you have reached out with your own worries about the traffic and safety on Maple Avenue because you live here too. We are currently preparing a formal response to the planning office to ensure our concerns are finally documented for the record.
March 23, 2009
Seeing this much momentum behind our fight to protect our neighborhood is overwhelming. It proves that the people living here will not stand by while this massive project threatens our safety.

I used to walk to school on this street and it was already busy enough. Adding this many cars is just asking for an accident to happen.
