No Second Chances for Convicted Child Molesters
NO SECOND CHANCES FOR CHILD MOLESTERS AND CHILD SEX OFFENDERS The murders of Jessica Lunsford, Sarah Lunde, Carlie Brucia, and most recently our own little Christopher Barrios could have been prevented. Repeatedly in each state Law Enforcement demands tougher laws and politicians eventually respond with new legislation, but not enough is being done. You hear about the crack down on sex offenders and the newer harsher penalties. The Jessica Lunsford Act and The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Protection Act of 2006, promise to turn the table on sexual offenders and predators. But we still need more. Even Dateline NBC\'s TO CATCH A PREDATOR makes you believe there is a renewed interest in apprehending child sex offenders but have you seen the actual sentences handed out when they do go to court The operative word in most of the sentences seems to be probation. Yes they have to register as sex offenders, Law Enforcement now knows who they are, but are our streets and neighborhoods really any safer Most of them say they had never done anything like this before. You may get queasy knowing most of these sicko\'s had just never been caught. In Long Beach, California 35 men were arrested for child sex offenses. 18 so far have pled guilty and the remaining 17 are still fighting it out in court. The standard offer on these cases is essentially 18 months in state prison. None of the defendants have accepted the offer of state prison. They have fallen on the mercy of the court. And in those cases that have put out, basically the judges have given a probationary sentence. PROBATION Probation is not enough! Just ask Mike Barrios who just this week (3/22/07) must bury his beloved 6 year old son. How many more children need to die at the hands of sex offenders previously convicted of child molestation before something is done We the people have to take more action NOW! It is time to push our legislature to establish NEW and STRONGER LAWS that DON\'T give these predators any chance to re-offend. The experts say that child sex offenders cannot be rehabilitated. They can only be re-educated in hopes they will not re-offend. Is this really enough when our children are being abused and murdered daily Was Couey re-educated Were the Edenfield\'s or any others Obviously not. And even then this is not a guarantee that these sick individuals will not prey on our precious children again and again. We all need to have the courage to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! CONVICTED SEX OFFENDERS SHOULD GET LIFE IN PRISON- NO SECOND CHANCES! Congress needs a wake up call! Current laws are NOT effective and need to be changed. NO SECOND CHANCES! Did little Carlie Brucia, Jessica Lunsford, Christopher Barrios or any of the other children these monsters murdered get a second chance Our judicial system failed to protect these children. They would be alive today if a NO SECOND CHANCE law had been in effect. We all desperately need to get involved now-PLEASE SIGN this petiton and I will make sure it gets to our state congressmen and government leaders. We need to demand STRICTER LAWS NOW before yet another defenseless child falls victim to yet another previously convicted sex offender. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Please sign and forward this message to everyone and lets get these laws changed! Anything less would be failing our Children. Please email me at debhesx27@aol.com for more information or to further support this cause. I AGREE THERE SHOULD BE NO SECOND CHANCES FOR CHILD MOLESTERS...
