NO SEATTLE VIADUCT

I will fight the rebuilding of the Seattle viaduct. I will work to unseat politicians who support a rebuild, I will donate money to fund lawsuits, and I will stand in front of bulldozers. A massive, noisy, dirty viaduct that walls off downtown Seattle from the waterfront sends all the wrong messages. A viaduct says that we value cars over people, that the environment is not important, that we do not value our downtown as a place to live, and that we are out of step with the times. The opening of the Seattle Art Museum\'s acclaimed Olympic Sculpture Park sends a different message: Seattle cares about its spectacular urban waterfront, improving the environment and making downtown Seattle a more desirable place to live and work. This is not 1953 and we prefer to learn from our mistakes, not repeat them. We will stop the viaduct.
