I have heard no good reasons why this behemoth of a bridge needs to be built. Consider cost saving alternatives - this is an environmental and a fiscal disaster.

I would love to see us fixing the our old bridge instead of it's reconstruction and disruption of sound and our lives. Norwalk. Please think carefully before you start making a damage that it will be to our sound, our surroundings and again our lives. Thanks

Step 2. Advocate for Norwalk - not for Hartford, not the Democratic Party, nor all the special interests getting paid out of this money pot.

Proposed lift bridge project costs exceed $1 billion, not merely "hundreds of millions." By all means, be fair to Devine Bros., but for heaven's sake don't mess up our city permanently, and blow a billion bucks, just so that one business can get the occasional barge full of gravel.

I have the impression it's too late to stop this boondoggle, but if there is a chance, I want to be part of the effort! I personally know many residents of Norwalk who have been protesting, asking, filling out surveys, testifying at meetings, etc. for YEARS about this project and nothing ever changes, leading me to believe the people who are profiting from this (whoever they are and they must be high up and profiting a lot) knew what they wanted from the beginning, have gone through a pretense of seeking input (e.g., how long have we been looking at the same pamphlets at Norwalk art shows, etc.? Years....) and have listened to zero of that input. Get an independent study done!

Please take a look at the 90 day review. No harm or delay of bridge start if looking at all options now. We as Norwalk residents and tax payers have nothing to loose. But everything to gain. Ask Mayor Rilling to say YES to the independent review.
