Come on everyone and I mean EVERYONE! I need signatures for this and I need a ton of them. I just wrote a huge email to all of the State Parks reps that govern over Olompali as well as several Marin County Parks Rangers. I'm planning to also forward to several state representatives and try to get this off the ground.

The response to my previous email a few months ago was.. I'm sorry but an Archery range is not part of the Olompoli State Park plan.. well.. the land was donated to the State.. it's intention was to further the knowledge of the Miwok to all interested.. Archery, was a HUGE part of Native American culture and what better way to bring people to Olompali then to provide Archery for the masses in Marin?

Sign this petition, write to California State Parks yourself.. if we yell it loud enough and strong enough, maybe Marin can finally have an outdoor Archery range after 25 years.

Thanks Everyone!

im still waiting to hear back from the state park reps but i refuse to drop this. there is no reason they should keep ignoring us when the land is sitting right there waiting to be used for something meaningful.

Archery would b agreat addition to the park. Please bear in mind that an archery range set up by an archery club would not be an expense to the Parks Dept., as the ranges are set up and maintained by the club=through membership dues and work hours. This is truoy a win, win proposition. Everybody wins.

It seems like a natural fit that celebrates Native American culture. Where I live we have many archery ranges in much smaller, city parks. I would love to come to Marin and be able to shoot in a quiet wooded setting.

An archery range would enhance the park experience, especially for kids. I can't think of a better way to provide some diversity to kids along with educating them as to the ways of our native american culture.

An outdoor archery range at Olompoli State Park would be a awesome location. The closest outdoor archery ranges are an hour or more from Novato. And having an archery range on land that was inhabited by the native Miwok Indians would be great for the sport. Not to mention keeping Indian tradition alive!

I am a responsible archer and taxpayer who would appreciate a safe and legal place to shoot arrows. China Camp in the past used to dedicate an island for that very thing. When the privilege was revoked that was the last I was able to enjoy refining precision shooting in my home county.

I have been to the park only twice in 30 years in Novato. I would probably be there two to three times per month with an outdoor range. I need the exercise, and this would give me the boost I need to get out there and do some real hikes.
