You will tarnish your reputation if you do not divest from Lockheed Martin. Students & parents care & many others are watching where institutions are source finance.

Horrified to see this further investment in the arms industry in our town. Lockheed Martin well known for violating human rights for profit. Shame on Northumbria Uni. Please stop this before it's too late.

Especially after the ICJ ruling all organisations must make sure to comply with what is imposed on Israel, i.e. making sure not to support a genocide however unwilling.

Unacceptable to invest in arms. You and our governments might enjoy the profit at the expense of thousands of civilians lives in unnecessary wars.

Northumbria’s own 'Treasury Management and Investment Policy' (2018) will not allow the university to invest funds in “arms companies”, because that might risk “alienating current students [or] staff”. It cannot, then, be acceptable to receive investment from or collaborate with an arms company like Lockheed Martin. Doing so raises serious ethical and moral concerns, because such collaborations have the potential to contribute to activities that end innocent lives and displace countless people. It highlights the contradiction in the university’s own policies and it can put aside its ethics in the pursuit of money. As parent that has a child considering this university it is no longer on the list , it’s disgraceful that an educational institution is getting involved with companies that make weapons of mass destruction & using the excuse of technological to justify their involvement…. The repucussions will be long lasting and more people will actively boycott Northumbria university period.

There is no place for arms technology in education! Exploiting students to develop technology for war is abhorrent.
