We, the undersigned, are musicians and fans of local music; we are students and parents of students who rely on instrument rentals; we are aspiring musicians who need the space and local resources to further our knowledge of music study. The closing of Aroostook Music has taken away the only resource of all these things from Northern Maine. To this end, the former employees are working on opening a new store to fill this vacuum which will not only keep local citizens employed, but also continue to provide the retail and services that are needed to keep music alive in Northern Maine. This petition will find its way to the Development Commission, the city of Presque Isle, the Chamber of Commerce and other people who might be in a position to help finance this venture. It is our duty and responsibility to make sure that "Mort's Music" becomes a reality.
