Northampton town centre library

Northampton central library We the undersigned petition the Northampton Borough Council to register our strong objection to the Grade II listed building of Northampton’s central library of Abington Street, Northampton being converted and developed into a shopping precinct and the like. We understand that the proposal forms part of the Central Area Action Plan (CAAP), which is itself part of the local planning development framework. Moreover, that the proposal is to go out for public consultation for a period of six weeks. However, we feel the Herbert Norman built building which opened in 1910 is a part of the town’s heritage, an iconic landmark of the town centre that we wish to keep in its current format as a library. And the petitioner(s) remain(s), etc.
