The Township of North Fayette, Allegheny County, PA in recent years has approved several new residential developments, resulting in an increased population and tax base. In particular, the decision of the Township to approve developments such as Fayette Farms, Seabright, and Stonebridge has created a potential conflict of interest between township residents and the nearby Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. The Speedway produces loud engine noises that can be heard from many miles away. Race events occur during late evening hours up to midnight on weekends and occasional weekdays. The Speedway is less than one mile from the Fayette Farms development. The purpose of this petition is to encourage the Township to adopt an ordinance to restrict noise levels at motor races and/or establish an evening curfew for motor racing events.
