While the North Central Strikers was unsuccessful in obtaining a Victorian Netball League (VNL) Licence this year, there are still opportunities that may present themselves in the future.

The feedback from our regional netball community has been overwhelming. I am meeting with league officials this week to present our case for a future licence. Email your local representatives now to demand they back regional representation in the VNL.

Its ridiculous how hard it is for girls out here to play at a high level without driving to the city every single night. We need a team that actually represents the whole state not just melbourne.

Both my daughters have played with Ballarat Sovereigns for the past three years and now neither Bendigo nor Ballarat it makes VNL that much harder to participate in. Travel is a huge cost and this decision has just made it inaccessible for many young and also those over 19 to have access to further their Netball at an elite level. Very disappointing to regional Netball. It is purely a Melbourne competition now.

Our region deserves to be showcased, we have so much talent and deserve the license to showcase that!

This region works extremely hard in the development of its players, coaches, umpires and administrators. It has turned out numerous candidates on all fronts that have proven successful. Don't let that hard work fade into the ether! The VNL should represent all regions of Victoria, be it regional or Metropolitan. Don't make regional pathways impossible. We want to nurture future talent in our region, not watch it leave in droves due to lack of opportunity; or worse, walk away from the sport all together!

This region has turned out some of the best Aussie netballers and continues to do so. Just imagine how many more there could be if they were given an opportunity!!
