I propose that the state of North Carolina allow teachers who posses their concealed carry permit or who voluntarily apply, and receive the permit be allowed to carry on ALL school grounds for the protection of our states children. I also propose that if a teacher shows interest in carrying on school grounds that they be able to pass a qualification course of fire comparable to that of their local law enforcement agency. I believe this is a measure that will help safeguard school children and provide a more effective alternative to "Gun Free Zones" which have failed miserably to date
