We, the undersigned, are in support of the arrest of Roman Polanski by the Swiss police, and believe that those petitioning for his release are either uninformed, or rape apologists. When Roman Polanski was 43 years old, he took a 13 year old girl to Jack Nicholson's home on the pretext of shooting photos of her for French Vogue. Once there, he gave her champagne and a quaalude (a sedative drug). He photographed her nude, he performed oral sex on her, he raped her vaginally and then he sodomized her. The girl was crying, protesting and begging to leave throughout the rape. She reported what happened, and he was arrested and charged with six felonies. The girl's mother asked the prosecutor to offer a plea agreement so that her daughter didn't have to testify. Polanski admitted what he did, he admitted that he knew she was 13, and he plead guilty to one felony count of sexual intercourse with a minor child. He was court ordered to undergo a 42 day psychiatric evaluation while awaiting sentencing. During that time, he became afraid that the judge was going to send him to prison rather than allow him to go free, so he ran. There was a new international warrant for his arrest issued in 2005, and the US justice department has attempted to capture him before this at least six times and failed. Roman Polanski was legally convicted of a felony crime, he was legally arrested in Switzerland, and he should be legally returned to the US to face his sentencing. To say otherwise is to sympathise with a child-rapist. While this is aimed at every person who has signed the Roman Polanski petition (http://tinyurl.com/ydzbdsc), it is mainly intended for the eyes of Emma Thompson, as the creators of this petition will be meeting her and calling her out on her decision to sign this petition.
