We, the undersigned, are writing this petition to support the appointment of Norman Cowie to become a tenured faculty member at Fordham University. As members of the Fordham community and family, we feel that Professor Cowie’s teachings in the fields of visual arts and media have been an invaluable part of Fordham’s curriculum over the last several years – helping several students progress to high profile jobs in the arts and media. But more importantly, Professor Cowie has also been an invaluable part of the Fordham community – always on-hand when a student needs him, for an open house – and even inviting them to screenings of his latest, award-winning works at some of the city’s finest theaters. Norman Cowie’s personal, caring nature is what makes him such a special teacher – and what sets Fordham’s faculty apart from other institutions. It would be an absolute injustice to deny future students of Professor Cowie\'s teaching. Therefore, to ensure that future generations of Fordham students receive the same quality education and friendship from such an expert in the field, we urge you to grant Norman Cowie tenure.
