Norman Smurthwaite, you came in a blaze glory, promising progress, stability & a club to be proud of.
During your 5 years in control our beloved club has gone backwards, our reputation as a professional club is severely damaged because of your treatment of players & staff, our comercial revenue is questionable as more & more allegations are creeping out by the day, you have turned away investment, publically turned away investment & new owners whilst trying to recoup a completely unrealistic price for the club which you have seperated from the ground, something history shows is never good for business.

On the pitch following one promotion we have since regressed to our lowest position since the early 80's and currently we are in danger of dropping into non league oblivion. All while you sit blaming everyone but yourself.

The breakdown in trust between yourself & the supporters is broken beyond all repair, the goodwill you once had is lost & you are now a figure of hate & derision. It doesnt have to be like this.

We would now like to see the following to happen from yourself:

1- Publically acknowledge you have failed in your mission & apologise to fans.

2- Formally put the football club & ground together as one with an official public asking price that reflects the assets of the club (your investment is not an asset no matter how much you have put in)

3- Actively invite previous local consortiums to submit bids should they wish to renew interest, this should be extended to parties interested at the point of administration 5 years ago.

4- Actively continue to engage with the supporters club to create a clear & transparent pathway to a positive future for Port Vale Football Club
