"Normalize Me"

“WORK with Kids, WORK for Kids, For A Better Childhood”

Children of all ages work in the entertainment business. The laws used in those industries can be used for other industries to allow families and children the decision for children to work "normal," jobs too. Children play sports at young ages. This requirements discipline, commitment, and sacrifice; weekly or even daily for training. Depending on the sport children are practicing and keeping just as demanding schedules or more demanding schedules as working adults.

The poor and middle class are suffering. Since covid-19 children especially pre-teens and teenagers are serving in the roles of caregivers of themselves or younger siblings. They are having to cook, clean, and help with school work. If they can do that they can help work outside of the home too. Some teenagers are also parents before 16. These young people need to be able to work to support their own children and families. Many school districts have gone to online learning which allows for a more flexible school for young people to be able to work and go to school at the same time.

Help me help families survive and do what is best for their survival. Change the laws so average American children can benefit from earning income like the wealth who are allowed to let their children work.

Updates

January 11, 2021

The people holding onto these outdated labor laws love to pretend that protecting children means forcing families into poverty. I am having productive conversations with advocates who see exactly what I see because we are done letting bureaucrats decide how our households survive.

January 11, 2021

The establishment keeps ignoring the reality of struggling families but this surge of support proves they cannot silence us forever. We are building the momentum needed to dismantle these outdated labor laws that benefit the wealthy while leaving working class children behind.

Great point. Kids learn more on the job than they do in some of these online classes anyway. Good luck with this!

Finally someone is talking about this. My son has been cooking and caring for his brother for years so he already has the work ethic!

It's encouraging to become acquainted with the thoughts that our progeny have about important issues. Early exposure to opportunities to engage in meaningful work is good preparation for responsible adulthood.
