Don't take away lanes from Norfolk's Hampton Blvd.

decreasing the lanes open will only increase the probability of traffic accidents!

This will serve less than one percent of Norfolk’s residents, but affect 100% of the people that live near them, directly or indirectly.

Please consider other changes to improve safety on Hampton Blvd. Lane reduction would certainly create havoc and definitely push traffic into the surrounding neighborhoods. Consider speed reductions and truck restrictions.

The traffic is much too heavy to put a bike lane in!!!

Decreasing the lanes will only increase more traffic and back up on Hampton Blvd possibly causing traffic to divert into neighborhoods. Control truck traffic and enforce it

I can’t imagine a more unsafe situation than to have bicyclists on the sides of Hampton Boulevard. We need less, not more travel on the boulevard.

At the Larchmont Edgewater civic league meeting, a city official cited 2 accidents. 1 at Spotswood in which sadly a child lost their life but that is outside the proposed lane reduction & secondly a truck overturning at Hampton & Bolling, in which the truck driver was intoxicated.

Lane closures will only increase traffic and driver frustration. Frustrated drivers= distracted, aggressive drivers. That doesn’t lead to safer roads.

Seriouly??? Hampton Blvd. is a nightmare in the afternoons. Narrowing lanes will only add to the agony.

Narrowing Hampton Blvd. is a ludicrous idea when there’s already a significant amount of traffic.

You will screw up EVERYTHING but taking a lane away from cars for bikes. I never see any one riding the bikes on the lanes going to the hospital.

There is a reason why Hampton expanded to 3 lanes, so reducing traffic flow to 2 lanes makes no sense. When traffic backs up on Hampton Blvd, traffic will divert to Colley, Jamestown Crescent, Magnolia, Upper Brandon, etc. These are the streets OUR children walk to school on! Stop this ridiculous and disingenuous plan...enforce the Speed limit if you want to slow traffic down. PS, learn from other cities like Pittsburgh, New York and Annapolis to name a few!

I agree that will create more traffic it’s alreasy a hassle to get to and from work with one lane that would make things worse

City council doesn't care what you think, they have never taken citizen concerns seriously.

The other bike lanes that take away an entire lane are an under-utilized mistake. Taking a lane from Hampton Blvd. would be a complete CF.

I just think this is going to create a huge problem where traffic is already a mess.
