By siging this petition you join me in asking every member of congress to forgo a paycheck in the event of a government shutdown. Forgoing a paycheck is something nearly every other federal employee would be forced to do. Secondly by signing this petition you are asking congress to also classify itself as non-essential, just like nearly every other federal employee.
