Tarbiyah Academy is an up-and-coming Islamic school in Columbia, MD. It will be the first of its kind in the area, as well as the first Islamic International Baccalaureate school in Maryland. We are eagerly working towards opening doors in September 2014, insha Allah. In order to this, we have been stepping up our fundraising efforts in the last several months. In January 2013, we submitted our application to the IRS to obtain the 501c3 nonprofit status. Unfortunately, till now, our application is still pending review, and we have been told (by the IRS) that we could be waiting up to a year (or more) before the IRS will even begin the review process. This is unfortunate, because many donors have told us that they are holding back their donations until we are granted the nonprofit status.

In hopes of moving things along, we are appealing to some members of Congress to expedite our application with the IRS. We are requesting that you, a supporter of Tarbiyah Academy help us by signing the petition below that we can submit to the members of Congress.
