To the Navy Chief of Staff: It has come to our attention that the US Navy is naming a San Antonia Class warship used primarily by the Marines after the late Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania who was a Marine himself. While his service to this nation is to be commended, his words spoken on the floor of the House of Representatives falsely accusing fellow Marines of cold blooded murder is nothing short of reprehensible. Because of this, we feel that his name should not be honored in any way, and we respectfully request that you rethink this action.
