Methadone is an evil and lazy drug prescribed to pain sufferers and people who suffer addiction to other drugs not just heroin, prescribed by lazy so called specialists!!!

This is long overdue. I have been addicted to heroin and methadone my whole adult life. A diamorphine script would enable me to have a normal existence. It would cut crime considerably. Please lets get this sorted once and for all. The war on drugs is futile and painful for those in active addiction.

As previously stated in the comments this is terribly overdue. Heroin addiction has blighted my life for many years now with a diamorphine prescription i would be able to turn my life around and move away from a life of criminality imposed upon me by prohibition.

I am 50 Now Having survived Three methadone scripts one of which was injectable , One time limited Oral Morphine script where they wanted to force me onto methadone!? I have used since I was 18 and have supported myself outside the state benefit system since I was 20. I am going to my appointment at my local torture centre (drug clinic) on Tuesday to ask for an injectable or oral Morphine script as I am in crisis...My source of diverted Morphine!? Has dried up after years of stability and I have had to use street Heroin for the first time in years.....These clinics are pathetically one size fits all and do not recognise what years of high dosage using do -I have a wife and four kids and have been unable to work or even do more than a minimum of housework since my source dried up! I am fed up with this ignorance ! Diamorphine Prescription NOW-and Cocaine for cocaine and polydrug users

After 30 years as an addict and 18 of them on heroin and opiates i feel its time the Home office moved towards Injectable Diamorphine for those who have tried and failed every other avenue of treatment

I am a struggling herion addict who has tried rehabs, suboxen, methodone and still struggling because of my pain tolerance my disease of addiction, and the needle, i think making of diamorphine for the use of controlling herion addiction, will cut down on crime, spreading of disases, overdoses, and all around make it much safer for true addicts with severe pain and addiction problems to dose safe and properly. so please make this accessible and safe for the still suffering!!!

We are not bad people. We just need legal help. This is one of the biggest problems in our country today. They leave most addicts so sick that they have no choice but to turn to crime or be torturedto the point of near death.

This would be a wonderful alternative, from someone whom has failed miserably on the methadone merry go round for 20 years of my 22 years of addiction.
I would gladly pay for the script as long as it's reasonable & affordable on an average working income. Not too expensive where we have to commit crime to fund the script as that would be defeating the object.
I believe a regular reliable source of clean heroine was on offer a lot of people would be able to carry normal lives. As a majority of our time is used up finding the finances (whether through legal or illegal means), scoring, waiting for the dealer, using & then worrying or scheming on how to get the next fix. All this time could be used in a more positive way, if there was reliable sources where available.
Granted a screening process needs to be in place & this method is not suited to all. There are clear studies, reports & evidence showing positive results from having a Heroine Assisted Treatment online.

I'm 30 years old and been on heroin since I was 13. More than half my life, I've failed every script, I've been homeless, I've been raped, and I've currently being back on methadone again for the last four years, maybe more, and I still use street heroin, that gives you headache, rashes, all I want is to get stable, get a job, and provide for the family I lost, thank you for reading

As a parent of a long term addict I believe it is time for a radical change of policy for the benefit of addicts and their families and for the greater good to society.

After 20 years of heroin addiction and fifteen years of a failed methadone maintenance prescription I find myself in a hopeless and desperate state, and due to the long term effects on my body I’ve been admitted to hospital for I.V treatment antibiotics and surgery 3 times this year, for which I fear will ultimately result in the loss of a limb due to the impurities of street heroin. I suppose at the least then I will be entitled to disability payments which at my own shame and cost to society would benefit my desperate situation. This ongoing situation in terms of cost to the N.H.S when compounded by the cost of the crime and policing involved in the cost of just one addict like myself gives viable justification for the prescription of clean diamorphine for people like myself, for whom even with my most determined efforts and will power, fail to manage with oral methadone which one study concluded has a mere 4% success rate.
As well as ashamed of myself I can’t help but feel let down by U.K drugs policy, as there is no doubt that at the least prescribed clean diamorphine would prevent the nasty abscesses and infections that threaten my life so frequently of late, keep me off the street and radically reduce the cost and the potential damage to both my family and community. I also find it most sad that all the potential of my life in terms of creativity and employment are wasted by the never ending choir and cycle of heroin addiction, which in turn is most definitely funding violent criminals and likely terrorism, which in turn costs U.Ks tax payers.
If I were a wealthy man born to the leafy suburbs I could afford to comb the practices of private G.Ps and find a sympathetic Doctor willing to prescribe which is how the current class system divides the treatment of addicts. Isn’t it time that sufficient evidence based help is provided for all regardless of social class, wealth or standing. As many studies U.K based and abroad have demonstrated the benefits of prescri
