As a Rossonian I believe that the name proposed is wholly inappropriate, because the individual never lived in the town and has no association with the town. This bridge should be named after someone or event that means something to the people of New Ross. The memory of the Kennedy family has been honoured enough.

Time to move on from the kennedys now. A town of over 800 years of history, surely we have more to offer than 45 minutes of a past president of a different country

There are enough places in the New Ross area named after the Kennedy family.

I believe the people of New Ross should have a major say in the naming of the bridge and it should be based on local geography and people. The Kennedys have been honoured in many ways already.

My suggestion as a name for the new bridge should be any of the following two.
Olympic Bridge or The Rising Bridge

I think the town is full of Kennedy stuff give someone else a chance to shine....or at least be a small bit inventive and not so lazy :) x
