Very good points made. I personally don't understand this requirement one bit and it would be a shame for students not to be able to participate in something they feel passionate about because they have to do something that they have no interest in. Let the students decide!!

I think any student should be allowed to tryout. You shouldn't have to be a band memeber. Isn't that taking away from the band anyways??
