This petition is to have Alabama State Senator Scott Beason removed from his position as State Senator & removed as Chairman of the Alabama State Senate Rules Committee.
These are our reasons:
* Beason has made racist remarks against not only African Americans, but also Mexicans in separate occasions. His hateful, hurtful, comments are a physical representation of his conscience & he is bound to act accordingly when dealing with individuals in those groups.

* A person who has been elected by the people to serve the people should not degrade & demoralize the people s/he was elected to serve. We also believe apologies should come as a form of true repentance, not when he realizes that he may not be able to maintain his position, or obtain new ones.
We are asking everyone to take a stand against injustice in its face. We, as concerned citizens of AL, have a right to hold our elected leaders accountable for their actions just as they hold us accountable for ours.
Please take a stand with us by signing this petition & passing it along to your friends & loved ones.
Sincerely,
Concerned Citizens of AL
The momentum behind this effort has grown significantly in recent days. It is evident that many people believe public officials should be held to a higher standard of conduct.

How is this man still in office? He represents all of us not just the people he likes. Way past time for him to go.
