We, the undersigned, would like to bring the problem regarding the excessive Noise from the 417 highway in the city of Orleans to your attention and request your urgent action to rectify the same as it affects the health of the public at large. We, the citizens would like to register our STRONG protest against the ever increasing levels of Noise that effect our health and hence our overall productivity and sleep patterns. Noise levels coming from the 417 have also effected the sale of our homes, allergies, people with asthma as well as dust levels in homes. There are numerous residential houses that back onto the 417 highway. The residents have been complaining about noise from trucks and their engines as well as the rest of traffic noise for a long time. Many find themselves having to yell in order to hear others speak even while in their homes when windows are open. Its high time to take an action. With the increasing of new homes and traffic to the Orleans and Rockland area this problem has become increasing worse. We would like action taken in the form of a sound barrier wall placed along the 417 highway from Jeanne D'Arc Blvd to Tenth Line road.
