I am calling upon the residents of the town of Bethel to help get a proper noise ordinance implemented on the town books. It's somewhat unbelieveable that in 2014 our town does not have clear, concise and enforceable noise laws. Excessive noise regardless of what is generating it can have harmful effects on people (especially children and the elderly) This ordinance would have to cover all aspects of noise pollution be it hours of operation, and many other sources of excessive noise that is generated in our town on a daily basis. I'd ask town officials to research how other towns go about enforcing their noise ordinance and how they fine offenders. By enacting noise laws the only thing that would change in Bethel is the quality of live would get better for everyone who calls this great town home.
